From Samarkand to Khiva by High-Speed Train with an Ichan-Kala Tour

Enjoy a comfortable journey from Samarkand to Khiva by high-speed train followed by a guided sightseeing tour of the ancient walled city of Ichan-Kala. This is an efficient way to travel between two of Uzbekistan’s most important historic cities in one day without a long road transfer. In the morning, you depart from Samarkand by high-speed train and arrive in Khiva in the afternoon, at approximately 2:00 PM. Your guide meets you at Khiva railway station, after which you can either begin a walking tour of Ichan-Kala immediately or choose to rest at your hotel first. The hotel is located approximately five minutes on foot from Ichan-Kala, making it easy to walk there independently after arrival. If you prefer to rest before sightseeing, the tour can begin around 4:00 PM as an atmospheric evening walking tour, with the opportunity to experience sunset among Khiva’s ancient walls, minarets, madrasahs and palaces. The sightseeing route covers the main landmarks of Ichan-Kala, including Kalta Minor, Kunya-Ark, Juma Mosque, Tash-Hovli Palace and the Islam Khoja Complex. After the guided tour, you remain in Khiva. If you would like to continue your Uzbekistan journey, we can arrange additional train tickets for the following morning from Khiva to Bukhara, Samarkand or Tashkent. These onward train tickets are available for an additional charge and are not included in the tour price.
